Biography

Ibrahim Tarbiyyah graduated from Plymouth State University at the United States with a bachelor’s degree in biotechnology. Recently, he has finished his master’s degree in Genetics at Umm Alqura University at Saudi Arabia. He has taken part in several research projects with different models. To exemplify, during his bachelor’s degree senior research project, he was involved in working with the well-known nematode model C.elegans to study the effects of the Omega-3 fish oil on the aggregation of an Alzheimer’s marker protein called the beta amyloid. Ibrahim´s  master’s thesis addressed the regulatory effects of a chosen transcription factor that regulates targeted salt-related genes using A.thaliana as a plant model.

Ibrahim is now a PhD Student at the Stress Granules laboratory and desires to learn and experience a profound number of molecular techniques that are related to studying the plant’s adaptation to different stresses.

Ibrahim has published as a first author in the journal of Applied Science: MDPI, and the publication is titled as “The Genetic Regulation of Secondary Metabolic Pathways in Response to Salinity and Drought as Abiotic Stresses” it is a literature review that aims to be a key source for any researcher that is aspiring to study the relationship between salinity and drought stresses and secondary metabolite production at the transcriptome and transcription level. Also, he published another publication in the Journal of Biochemical and Clinical Genetics and titled as

“Knowledge and awareness of genetic diseases among residents of the western region of Saudi Arabia”
