Fareena completed her Bachelors in Biotechnology at the University of Lahore (Lahore, Pakistan) in 2020. She focused on the Isolation and characterization of dye degrading bacteria from the Enterobacteriaceae family. Soon after in 2021 she started her Master’s journey in Professor Monika's group. She is currently working on the identification and characterization of granules in  Algae formed under different stress conditions. Using diverse approaches in genetics and rDNA technology to understand how single called photosynthetic eukaryotes adapt to extreme environmental conditions.
