SRSI student prize

We are proud to share that high school student Lana Nouri, hosted by the Stress Granules Lab, received the Star Award 2026 and won first place in the Sustainable and Environment Division at the IBDAA Science Fair, competing against 200 students from across the country.

This outstanding achievement qualifies her to represent Saudi Arabia at the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) in the United States.

Throughout the Saudi Research Science Institute (SRSI) Program, IBDAA, and the preparation for ISEF, Lana was mentored by our PhD candidate Violeta Londono, who guided her research project titled: “Characterization of OTU2 Under Diverse Abiotic Stresses in Arabidopsis thaliana.
